ABOUT MANI RAO
     

Mani Rao (b.1965 India) moved to Hong Kong in 1993. She is the author of seven poetry books - two of which are bilingual with Chinese translations, has published in journals including Wasafiri, Meanjin, Fulcrum and WestCoastLine , and her poetry is featured in anthologies including  W.W. Norton's Language for a New Century (2008), City Voices, Hong Kong writing in English, 1945 to present and forthcoming anthologies by Penguin India, and BloodAxe. Mani was Visiting Fellow at the 2005 Iowa International Writing Program, and won the 2006 University of Iowa IP writer-in-residence fellowship. In Hong Kong, she was the co-founder of OutLoud poetry readings, and contributed a weekly poetry segment to Radio 4 RTHK. She lives in Las Vegas for an MFA in poetry at UNLV.
